Sheffield has two universities and is a great place to study. It’s often described as vibrant, innovative and cultured and offers all the benefits of being a very friendly city, yet very close to the Peak District National Park. The city boasts some of the finest new buildings and public spaces such as the award-winning Winter Gardens and Peace Gardens.
The city is a great place for going out, with an ever expanding range of restaurants, bars and cafes. For retail therapy there’s the town centre or Meadowhall shopping centre, just a short tram ride away. As for culture, Sheffield has two major theatres and four art galleries. A 10 minute walk brings you to Ponds Forge Sports Centre with an Olympic size swimming pool.
Also in the city is Ice Sheffield and the Ski Village for all your outdoor pursuits, The English Institute of Sports, Don Valley Stadium as well as the two Sheffield football clubs. If you like live music then there are the Motorpoint Arena and Carling Academy as well as many clubs and pubs with a huge range of gigs.
Accommodation
The training academy is based in the heart of the city, close to many private letting flats and houses. We can provide help and advice on areas to live in, and provide accommodation lists to help make the right choice. Many areas just outside the city are easily accessible by bus, car, bicycle or the Supertram network.
