We all absolutely loved the show and the fact that every dancer was able to shine. The set and costumes were amazing too!

It’s our 20th birthday so this year’s annual show will be the biggest and best yet! It will be held on Saturday 8th June 2024 at the Drama Studio Theatre in Sheffield.

This will be a full production, telling a story and immersing the audience throughout. All of the classes at the academy (apart from the beginner courses), both adults and juniors, will come together to perform various excerpts themed and inspired by Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

We will run the same show twice with a matinee and evening show – all students will take part in both shows.

Which classes take part in the show?

ALL classes have the opportunity to take part in the show APART FROM the beginner course students.

How do I register to take part in the show?

Your class tutor will be talking to you about it in class and will be taking a list of names. Once you have committed to taking part there can be no dropouts otherwise you’ll loose your costume hire fees.

What if I can only do 1 of 2 the shows?

This is fine, but please make sure to let your tutor know this straight away so that they can plan accordingly.

Is there a fee to take part in the show?

No, there is no fee to take part in our annual dance show. We do charge a costume hire fee though. The cost will depending on what you hire from us – details will be given to each class well in advance.

Is there a deadline to sign up to take part in the show?

Yes, the deadline for students to sig up to take part is 1st May 2024.

Can I still come to class if I’m not taking part in the show?

Yes! The class will still contain technique as well as choreography. You can still come along and learn the show routine even if you won’t be performing it on stage.

There may be a couple of lessons near to the show date where we ask for only people taking part in the show to attend, but we’ll let you know of these dates well in advance.

How do I buy tickets for the show?

Tickets will go on sale from 1st April and will be available to buy on our website – click the blue button near the top of the page.

How long does the show typically last?

The show typically lasts for around 2 hours, with a 15 minute interval half way through.
