Warm Up For The Olympics - Music in the Round
We need Hype dancers (all levels, all genres) to be part of the team to perform at the premiere of new music by Stephen Montague and choreography by Anna Olejnicki. The focus of this piece is based on how classical music can have the same motivational effect as fast dance music.
This project will be touring the UK, and launch at The English Institute of Sport 100 days before the Olympics starts. You need to be free as follows:
- Sunday 1st April - Rehearsal 13:00 - 16:00 @ Hype
- Tuesday 17th April - Rehearsal with the Orchestra Time and venue tbc
- Wednesday 18th April - LAUNCH EVENT 13:00 - 19:00 @ English Institute of Sport
- All times are approximate
This is a great chance to work with new people on a professional piece of dance, to a live orchestra and make your own contribution to the Olympic celebrations!
So... sign up at reception or email us!
Feedback from this years Annual Show
‘I thought this year's show was excellent - the best ever. Both from my experience of taking part, and all the buzz and excitement and pride backstage, to the proud parent, and member of the audience watching all that hard work come together. All the performances I saw (first half only) were first class, a definite step-up on previous years in terms of choreography and standard of dance from the students taking part.’
‘To offer classes for all ages from three upwards, to those of us at the more senior end, and to gather us all together for such a wonderful event, is nothing short of marvellous. Your skill and devotion to us all, and to the art of dance, and your support from teachers such as Emily and Sarah and Shelley was fantastic.’
‘The concept for Alice was a masterstroke and everyone I spoke to really enjoyed it - the thread of a story, professionally executed, but also making room for the fun that the tiny ones bring. The tap number has received much praise from everyone I've spoken to.’
‘I just wanted to congratulate you on this years show. It was excellent! Everyone agreed. I know the girls are getting older and better, but the choreography and the costumes and standard of dancing was the best yet.’
‘Well done for the dance show last week, best yet!!’
‘I was very impressed with the performances and Tor had a great time - thanks for all your hard work.’
‘Was a fantastic show and amazing choreography!!!!!!’
